The Day Without Yesterday is a science/bio of Georges Lemaître, the Belgian physicist and priest who convinced Einstein and his generation that the universe had to be dynamic (expanding). He was the first to develop what became the Big Bang theory, and also the first to seek observational data to support Einstein's cosmological equations.

June 2006 will be the 40th anniversary of his death. He lived to see the Big Bang theory vindicated by the discovery of the cosmic microwave background radiation in 1965.
